Tsumeru detects a Japanese title in your Canva design and recomposes it with refined character spacing, then places the result in the same position, size, and rotation. It handles Japanese typographic details such as punctuation, brackets, middle dots, and particle scaling, and it also supports vertical writing. We aim to respond within a few business days. When reporting an issue, it helps to include the design type you were using (e.g. Presentation), the font of your title, and a screenshot if possible.
How to use
1.Open a design with a fixed size (Presentation, Poster, etc.) and add a large Japanese title.
2.Open Tsumeru and press Beautify (detect).
3.Check the preview and adjust the options if you like.
4.Press Apply to place the recomposed title in the same position.
5.To edit again, select the placed element and press Update.
Frequently asked
Which fonts are supported?
Noto Sans JP is bundled with the app, so its letterforms match exactly. Other fonts still work, but their letterforms may change slightly; the app shows a note in that case. For the best result, set your title in Noto Sans JP.
Which design types work?
Fixed-size designs such as Presentations and Posters. Docs and Whiteboards are not supported.
Does it support vertical writing and multiple lines?
Yes. Vertical writing is detected automatically, and titles of up to three lines are supported.
What happens to my original text?
By default the original text is removed when you apply, so the recomposed title doesn't overlap it. You can turn this off before applying. If you removed it by mistake, click the canvas and undo (Windows: Ctrl+Z / Mac: ⌘Z).
The app couldn't detect my font. What should I do?
Pick the font you're using from the list in the app before applying. If a title looks wrapped, add a manual line break where you want it and detect again.

1. Summary
Tsumeru (the “App”) is a Canva app provided by DenzoLab Inc. The App does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. All processing happens locally, inside Canva, on your device.
2. Data we do not collect
We do not collect, store, sell, or share any of the following: personal information, account information, email addresses, design content, usage analytics, or device identifiers.
3. No external communication
The App makes no requests to any external server. All fonts used by the App are embedded in the app bundle, so no font or resource is fetched from a third party while you use the App.
4. Design content the App reads
To do its job, the App reads the following from the title you select in your design: the text, the font name, size, weight and color, and the position and size of the text box. This information is used only during your session, only in your browser, to generate the recomposed image and place it on your design. It is not stored by us and never leaves your device.
5. Permissions
The App requests the following Canva permissions:
canva:design:content:read — to detect the title and read its text, formatting, and position.
canva:design:content:write — to place or update the recomposed title, and to delete the original text element when you choose that option.
These permissions are used solely for the purposes described above.
6. Cookies, analytics and tracking
The App does not use cookies, analytics, advertising, or any third-party tracking technologies.
7. Children’s privacy
The App is a design tool intended for general audiences and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.

1. Acceptance of these terms
Tsumeru (the “App”) is a Canva app provided by DenzoLab Inc. (“we”, “us”). By installing or using the App, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
2. What the App does
The App detects a Japanese title in your Canva design and recomposes it with refined character spacing, then places the result on your design at the same position, size, and rotation. It can also set text in vertical writing and adjust Japanese typographic details such as punctuation, brackets, middle dots, and particle scaling.
3. License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App. You may use the output produced by the App in your own designs, including for commercial purposes, subject to Canva’s terms and the font license in Section 6.
4. Your content and your design
You retain all rights to your content. The App modifies your design only as instructed by you:
When you press “Apply”, the App places the recomposed title on your design.
By default, the App deletes the original text element to avoid overlap. You can turn this off in the App before applying.
Deletion can be undone with your own undo command (Windows: Ctrl+Z / Mac: ⌘Z) after clicking the canvas.
You are responsible for reviewing the result before using or publishing your design.
5. Availability and changes
The App is currently provided free of charge. We may change, suspend, or discontinue the App or any of its features at any time. We may also introduce paid features in the future; any such change will be communicated in the App or on our website.
6. Fonts and third-party licenses
The App bundles a subset of Noto Sans JP, licensed under the SIL Open Font License, Version 1.1. Copyright © Adobe (adobe.com). “Noto” is a trademark of Google Inc. The full license text is available at openfontlicense.org and is also shown inside the App.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
The App is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Typographic results may vary depending on the font, text, and layout. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, DenzoLab Inc. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, content, or profits, arising out of or in connection with your use of the App — including any changes to or deletion of content in your design. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms of Use. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Continued use of the App after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Japan having jurisdiction over the location of our head office.
