Frequently asked
Which frame rates are supported?
23.976, 24, 25, 29.97, 30, 48, 50, 59.94 and 60 fps. Drop-frame (DF) is available at 29.97 and 59.94.
What does the purchase unlock?
A one-time In-App Purchase unlocks Export, the Apple Watch app, and Sync between iPhone and Apple Watch. Timing, marking and the Shot Log work without purchase.
How do I restore my purchase?
On iPhone, hold it upright and tap "Timecode" at the top of the main screen. Under "Sync", tap "Unlock Apple Watch and Sync", then tap "Restore Purchase". Use the same Apple Account you purchased with.
How do I use the Apple Watch app?
Purchase on iPhone first (see above). The Apple Watch app then unlocks automatically. On Apple Watch you can start, stop and mark, use the Cue counter, and check the log. When iPhone or Apple Watch joins the other's session, both keep the same list of marks. Out of range, Apple Watch keeps timing on its own and catches up when it reconnects. Offset, units, and scene and take edits are made on iPhone.
Which formats can I export?
Open the Shot Log and tap the Export button (it appears once you have at least one mark). You can choose Take List PDF, Take List CSV, and markers for editing apps: EDL, Marker XML, Marker CSV and Standard CSV. For other editing apps, convert the Standard CSV with a conversion site or similar.

Timecode Shot Log — Privacy Policy
Effective date: 2026-10-05
Timecode Shot Log ("the app," "we," "us") is an iPhone and Apple Watch app for timing and logging takes in timecode on film and video sets. We designed the app to work entirely on your devices. This policy explains, in plain language, what the app does and does not do with your information.
THE SHORT VERSION
We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share your personal information. Timecode Shot Log has no servers, no account system, and no analytics or advertising. What you enter stays on your iPhone and Apple Watch, and leaves them only when you export and share it yourself.
INFORMATION WE COLLECT
None. The app does not require an account and does not ask for your name, email, phone number, or location. The "location" in the Shot Log is text you type; the app does not use your device's location services. We do not operate any server that receives your data, and the app contains no analytics, tracking, or advertising software.
INFORMATION STORED ON YOUR DEVICE
To do its job, the app stores the following locally on your device:
Your sessions and marks, with scene and take numbers, OK marks, comments, and the location text you enter.
Your settings (such as frame rate, drop-frame, display units, start timecode, offset, and Cue).
The fields on the Export screen (such as title, location, formats, roll, and timeline start) and a record of your last export.
Whether the In-App Purchase has been unlocked.
This information is saved in your device's local app storage. It is not transmitted to us or to anyone else.
SYNC BETWEEN IPHONE AND APPLE WATCH
If you use Sync, marks and the information needed to keep both sessions the same are sent between your own iPhone and your own Apple Watch, using Apple's connection between paired devices. They are not sent to us, and we do not operate any server involved.
FILES YOU EXPORT
When you export, the files (PDF, CSV, EDL, XML) are created on your device and sent only where you choose on the share sheet, such as Mail, Files, or AirDrop. From there, those copies are handled by the app or service you chose, under its own terms.
IN-APP PURCHASE
Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your payment details or your Apple Account information. The app keeps only a record on your device that the purchase has been unlocked.
DEVICE BACKUPS
Depending on your own settings, the app's data may be included in backups of your device, such as iCloud Backup or a backup to your computer. These backups are managed by you and Apple, not by us.
HOW WE SHARE INFORMATION
We do not share your information, because we do not collect it. Timecode Shot Log contains no third-party SDKs that receive your data.
CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
Timecode Shot Log is a tool for film and video production and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.
DATA RETENTION AND DELETION
Because your data is stored on your devices, you remain in control of it. In the app, "Reset" ("Delete Session and Marks" or "Reset All to Defaults") and "Next Roll" on the Export screen delete your marks. Deleting the app from your iPhone and from your Apple Watch removes the data the app stored on each device. These actions do not remove copies in your device backups or in files you have exported.
INTERNATIONAL USERS
Timecode Shot Log processes everything on your devices. Because no data is sent to us, we do not transfer your data across borders.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
If we change this policy, we will update the "Effective date" above and publish the new version at the same location.
