ShiftDial — Privacy Policy

ShiftDial ("the app," "we," "us") is an Apple Watch app that helps people who work long, fixed shifts—such as firefighters, EMS, and other 24-hour responders—see where they are in their on/off shift cycle. We designed ShiftDial to work entirely on your device. This policy explains, in plain language, what the app does and does not do with your information.
THE SHORT VERSION
We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share your personal information. ShiftDial has no servers, no account system, and no analytics or advertising. Everything you enter stays on your Apple Watch (and any Apple devices you sync through your own iCloud, if enabled by the operating system).
INFORMATION WE COLLECT
None. ShiftDial does not require an account and does not ask for your name, email, phone number, or location. We do not operate any server that receives your data, and the app contains no analytics, tracking, or advertising software.
INFORMATION STORED ON YOUR DEVICE
To do its job, the app stores the following locally on your device:

Your shift settings (clock-in time, shift length, and off-duty length).

Your display preferences (such as theme and dial options).

Whether you have completed first-time setup.
This information is saved in your device's local app storage so the app and its complications can show your shift. It is not transmitted to us or to anyone else.
HEALTH DATA
ShiftDial includes an optional sleep feature. If you choose to enable it and grant permission, the app reads recent sleep data ("Sleep Analysis") from Apple Health solely to display sleep periods on the dial on your device. This data:

is read only (the app never writes to Apple Health),

is used only on your device to draw the dial,

is never transmitted off your device, never sold, and never used for advertising or marketing.
You can grant or revoke this permission at any time in the Apple Health app or in Settings. If you do not enable the sleep feature, the app does not access Apple Health.
HOW WE SHARE INFORMATION
We do not share your information, because we do not collect it. ShiftDial contains no third-party SDKs that receive your data.
CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
ShiftDial is intended for working adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.
DATA RETENTION AND DELETION
Because your data is stored only on your device, you remain in control of it. Deleting ShiftDial from your Apple Watch removes the app's locally stored settings. Health data remains in Apple Health and is governed by Apple's own controls.
INTERNATIONAL USERS
ShiftDial processes everything locally on your device and does not transfer your data across borders, because no data leaves your device.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
If we change this policy, we will update the "Effective date" above and publish the new version at the same location. Material changes will also be reflected in the app's Legal section.

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the ShiftDial app ("the app," "we," "us"). By downloading or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
THE APP
ShiftDial is an Apple Watch app that displays where you are in a fixed on/off shift cycle. The free version shows your shift dial and complications. ShiftDial Pro is an optional paid subscription that unlocks additional features (such as sleep windows, shift notifications, additional themes and fonts, and saving multiple shifts).
NOT A SAFETY OR MEDICAL DEVICE
ShiftDial is an informational convenience tool only. It is not a medical device, alarm system, or safety-critical timekeeping system, and it must not be relied upon for any safety-critical, operational, medical, or emergency decision. Times shown are estimates based on the schedule you enter and your device's clock. Always follow your employer's official rosters, dispatch, and procedures. The optional sleep feature is for general awareness and is not medical or sleep-disorder advice. ShiftDial does not recommend, endorse, or prescribe any work schedule, shift length, or rest pattern. The 24-, 48-, and 72-hour options are presets for displaying common rotations you or your employer set; they are not advice about safe or healthy hours, and ShiftDial does not assess fitness for duty.
SHIFTDIAL PRO SUBSCRIPTION

ShiftDial Pro is offered as an auto-renewable subscription (for example, a monthly or yearly plan). The exact plans and prices are shown in the app at the time of purchase and may vary by region.

Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.

The subscription automatically renews for the same period at the then-current price unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

Your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.

You can manage or cancel your subscription in the Watch app on your iPhone, or in Settings on a device signed in to your Apple Account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

Purchases, billing, and refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's standard terms. We do not process payments and cannot issue charges or refunds directly.
LICENSE
We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the app on Apple devices that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, or redistribute the app except as allowed by law.
HEALTH DATA
If you enable the optional sleep feature, the app reads sleep data from Apple Health on your device only, as described in our Privacy Policy. The app never transmits this data off your device.
DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES
The app is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, accurate, or error-free.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any missed shift, lost work, or other loss arising from your use of or reliance on the app.
CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Effective date" above and reflect material changes in the app's Legal section. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
GOVERNING LAW
These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
APPLE
Apple is not a party to these Terms and is not responsible for the app. The Apple Standard End User License Agreement also applies to your use of the app and is available at:
